The start of the website I thought was a great idea. But the fact that it has shown little use leads me to believe that it is time just to shut it down. I feel bad for the people that took their time to make something that could be of great use but it is being ignored by officers and kin. I

I don't know how teamspeak is doing so I can not comment on it.

This response is from a personal place and not as an office of the kin or site administrator. This site was meant to be a an extension of the kin for presenting in-game content as well as any additional info to enhance game play, occasional socialization of members, even provide a venue to inform others of personal status. Many people do not participate on Facebook and I often hear the comment "I do not use the Internet or websites for anything", yet we are playing an MMORPG online. I have read other comments in game that some people feel they should not have to come here and look up info we post because it is easier for them if we tell them what they want to know. I also am taking into account that summer tends to see a drop in participation, with the kids home from school, vacations scheduled, etc. Now I do my best to log onto the site any day I am home. My weekends have changed but my week days usually allow me to be here randomly throughout the day. I try to update what I can, respond when someone does post a comment, even check for new applications in need to acceptance. But 'playing' to an empty room is very discouraging. I am here to show a presence, as part of my responsibility as both kin officer and site admin. However; I cannot force or demand people to show up, to participate, or to realize that the effort each of us makes to be active here would make a positive impact for all. I do know it would be a shame to let the potential of this site not be realized. Here I am, at 2:45 a.m., commenting on something I believe in while writhing in pain from a few ornery fractures and pinched nerve in my spine, and quite possibly slurring via typos, because its important to follow up on anything that comes through here.

There was a neat children's book from many moons ago, 'Stone Soup'.

I'll bring the carrots.........What will other kin members bring? :)

I have found the virtues information on here very useful! Typically, I'm busy playing the game and not logged into the site, but it's great when the game is down for maintenance!

Thank you Bearod for reminding us that there is good information available at the website.

Any ideas on how we can get the word out that we have this resource?

I have to say, personally, I am not much of a chatter on kin/guild websites. I LOVE having it available - I love the resources, the ability to check the roster, the info on kin happenings etc. I try to peek at conversations when able. But truthfully, since I work outside the home and have a toddler at home, what "free" time I have (and some time that shouldn't really be free but I steal, lol!) I really want to play the game. That said, I HUGELY appreciate all the time put into maintaining the site by our leaders and contributors - I know how much work it is. You should know your efforts are valued, even when that value isn't vocalized like it should be!

Thank you Val for your post. You reminded us of many of the reasons that the website is useful. I am sure it is an encouragement to those that put their effort into making the information available.

+1 This was my only way to communicate the kinship that i was unable to play the game :P
Edurian the "Champion of Eriador" "Champion of Lothlorien" "Champion of the Lone-Lands" that is not a champion at all. It's just a single Hunter that works hard for his peeps.
